The plan

Convene at our local Mansfield Visitor Centre. Join us on the Bushwalks Mini-Bus for a chauffeured 30-minute journey to commence our walking tour, taking in the scenic beauty of the high country along the way.

You can live here all your life and never find this place... Meander along a rocky trail following a beautiful small brook. Pause and enjoy the sounds of moving water, wind in the trees and abundant wildlife. Set in natural bush, the path follows a creek and is well defined, with some short steep sections and is mostly a single file track. Public drop toilets are available as you set off.

Reaching the waterfall, the bush transforms into a tranquil oasis; inspiring, meditative, and grounding. A column of water pours down a cliff face. A rock viewing platform with added safety rail enables you to view the upper water cascading down, and peer over the rail to see it further traveling down the rock face on its journey through ferns, gums, and wattles. Footbridges along the way make for other great photo opportunities. Take a little time out for your catered picnic lunch. Our guide shares interesting information about unique flora and fauna, and the areas saw-milling history. Choose the tracks to take you back. Walk time of 2-3 hours with a distance of 7km.

On return we make a Local Cellar Door Discovery! Sample esteemed cool climate wines and savour a fresh produce platter to share. Stock up on your favourite drop for the trip home or stay the night in wonderful accommodation (packages available).

Total experience time 6-8 hours.

Simone (Monnie) grew up on a farm 17km out of Mansfield in the foothills of Mt Buller. She has worked as a primary teacher in Mansfield for around 15 years before taking a position with Mansfield Autism Statewide Services. In this role she regularly entered the natural environment including parks, reserves, and alpine areas to support students to manage their stress, free time and social interactions.

After many casual walks with friends, Monnie was inspired to create something new for locals, visitors, and educators; giving them the confidence to venture out into our beautiful bushland... and so Mansfield Bushwalks was born to facilitate safe guided walks in the local area where the mountains and streams are plentiful and there is an abundance of wildlife to be observed in the natural environment.

This has allowed Monnie to combine my many years of local knowledge, professionalism, and stewardship, with a passion for the outdoor experience. Having also completed essential qualifications, you can rest assured you are in safe hands. Monnie looks forward to guiding you and others on and off the beaten track.
