Marlene Hoff – otherwise known as the 100 Mile Foodie – is all about keeping it local. She uses only sustainable, ethically made products and food produced or grown within 100 miles of her location. She and her team offer catering, special events, cooking workshops and private dinners out of two locations, South Gippsland and the Mornington Peninsula. Marlene believes people want to know where their food comes from, how it was farmed, and whether it’s seasonal – and she’s happy to help them learn all about it.
Oskar Lindback is a home-brewing legend with over 20 years' experience. Oskar has a real skill in producing exciting, unique flavours out of a standard home-brew kit and even grows his own hops at home!
Held on the first Sunday of every month, these long-table Sunday lunches make the most of the weekend, before Monday rolls around. Ease into the day with a glass of local bubbles and seasonal syrup: perhaps elderflower, cherry, strawberry or rose, whatever pretty and fragrant ingredients the season has to offer. Canapés starring local vegetables, herbs, seafood or meat are the perfect complement. Local and ethically farmed meats direct the main course; the autumn menu ushers in the shorter, cooler days with rich fragrant braises, roasts and plenty of seasonal veg. Additionally, plant-based meals are always available and vegetarians will be happily sated with equally creative and flavourful dishes. Wines are matched to the main course, with a glass of local shiraz, pinot noir or chardonnay to reflect the season. The prettiest course, dessert makes the most of local berries, citrus, stone fruit and edible flowers. We love our local south Gippsland cream and recommend lashings of it on your sweet plate. Our proximity to farm-gate produce means that ingredients are often harvested just hours before lunch, which is served on the deck under our gracious golden elm tree, on the long table set exclusively for ten.
The fruits of your labour
There's not a lot of labour going on at this lunch! It's all about the fruits: your meal, the company, and making the most of a long Sunday afternoon.
