Earring Making Workshop

In this half-day workshop, you'll learn to make your own earrings using 925 silver, brass or copper.
Acquiring the basic skills of silversmithing that you can take with you to keep creating on your own at home if you desire!
Morning tea is provided and a complimentary glass of bubbles to celebrate your creation!

Please Note:

All attendees will be given safety directions of proper tool operations.

The plan

You'll design your own earrings and learn all the skills necessary to complete them and take them home with you.  

Talvi provides all the tools for students and materials (silver up to 15gms, copper and brass sheet). 

You'll learn, sawing, filing and sanding skills to create your design as well as forming earring hooks, jump rings and stud backs. Some basic soldering skills will be taught to those who wish to make studs. 

Learn texturing skills by hammering or stamping your pieces and finish them with patina and polishing techniques.  

The fruits of your labour

Morning tea includes a coffee, tea or hot chocolate and some slices/cakes ordered from our local favourite.  

You'll take home a pair of earrings made by you!

The kit required

Please bring a packed lunch/snacks and a water bottle with you on the day.  

I finally found my calling in silversmithing after decades of working in every industry imaginable and not ever really finding that one thing I wanted to do.

Utilising the skills I acquired along the way of hand tools and design, silversmithing came effortlessly for me and is the perfect balance of creativity and construction!!

It's a never-ending learning path for me and I'd like to share all I learn with others who seek to become a silversmith or just want the experience of making their own piece of jewellery and let their creative juices flow.
