Come be creative at Hazy Tales Studio and learn how to make a ceramic wall vase. Rather than buying a vase why not make one yourself and stand out from the crowd with something contemporary and cool? This class will be a mixture of fun and creativity in a stylish venue with great tunes!
Where: Drysdale, Geelong-Bellarine
Our craft and pottery social evenings are all about fun and creativity. Join us to make your very own wall vase, which you can make totally unique and even add your own name or a friend's name to – so you can give it as a gift. And not only is it fun but you will also experience mindfulness, which will let you access your creative self and help you feel relaxed and rejuvenated.
These classes are held in our studio, which is a stylish light-filled venue, with floor to ceiling windows and polished concrete floors.
On arrival there will be a complimentary drink – your choice of herbal tea, wine or beer, or spirits with a mixer. BYO for additional drinks.
Think about the finish and decoration you would like on your vase. Make a sketch if it helps, or even bring an idea or ideas for a design, pattern etc with you. You will be shown the technique to make your vase. These will be secured together with scoring & slip. There is then the option to use slip to decorate your vase with blocks of colour, pattern and design.
Time: We've allowed 2 hours, but you may stay longer to finish your work. But you may also finish it in less than 2 hours if you're working quickly, so you are free to stay and have a drink and chat.
Your pieces will then be dried out for at least 2 weeks and bisque fired in the kiln. The next step is to have a clear glaze added and be kiln fired a further time. They will then be ready to collect within approx 6 weeks.
2 - 3 hours includes clay, glazes and kiln firing.
The fruits of your labour

Hi, I’m Sally Hobson – the proprietor of Hazy Tales Pottery Studio located in Drysdale on the Bellarine Peninsula.
I studied photography at Derby University in England and have worked in marketing, in a photography studio and run my own wedding and portrait business. I have always been invested in art and creating. Since moving to Australia 6 years ago, I have found a passion for ceramics and jewellery making. It’s a creative exploration being able to make and sell my own products.
The studio is also a great space for hosting events including kids' holiday/term time workshops and social evenings for adults where there is a fab mixture of fun & creativeness!
