This hike follows one of the most stunning sections of the Australian Alpine Walking track. A challenging and rewarding day out
Where: Bright, High Country
We depart from the centre of Bright at 7.30 am and drive up to Falls Creek.
We set out from the famous ski village of Falls Creek over the beautiful Bogong High Plains, which are covered with wild flowers in spring and early summer.
An experienced personal guide will talk you through the history, geography and highlights of the area whilst looking after you on the trail.
The route descends to the Cobungra River and we picnic at the charming Dibbins Hut before climbing up past another cattlemen’s hut to reach Mount Hotham.
Here you will be met with a celebratory cold beer, bubbles or soft drink before being returned to your accommodation. The total distance on foot is 23 km.
We will be back in Bright by 6 pm.
Please note this is a challenging hike and there is no vehicle access available during the day. Contact us if you would like more information
