Prue Simmons from Dyeing to Weave Studio in Central Victoria specialises in Japanese SAORI weaving and natural dye.
As one of only 3 people accredited to teach SAORI in Australia, Prue is passionate about sharing her knowledge of SAORI weaving and her deep connection to this unique Japanese weaving and philosophy.
Prue is also the only person in Australia trained by the Bengala Dye organisation and Australia's only official distributor of these unique dyes. Prue has travelled to Japan many times to learn traditional and contemporary Japanese shibori, katazome and itajime dye techniques from Japanese Indigo and Bengala dye masters. She loves sharing her passion for indigo and these handcrafted Japanese eco-dyes that are fun and easy to use, to produce beautiful natural colours.
