Choose your own fabric to create this unique purse – beginners welcome!
Where: Geelong, Geelong-Bellarine
The yummiest part of a sewing project is surely in the fabric choice. You'll begin your workshop by selecting the fabric you'd like to use for your purse, and also its contrasting lining.
This small and manageable project will give you experience in cutting out a pattern and marking seams, under Bindi's guidance. Once you've got your fabric pieces sorted, you'll get to work on the assembly using a sewing machine.
Once the body of the purse is all made up, you will learn to attach the clasp. After attaching the components on one side, we’ll stop for a coffee, or a glass of bubbles, and graze on some cheese and dip. Once the other side of the clasp is attached, you’re all done and have your very own custom purse!
The fruits of your labour
You'll be treated to a delicious spread and accompanying cuppa or glass of sparkling during the course of your workshop. Then you'll head home with your sweet, handmade clutch purse to fill with life's essentials!
The kit required
All tools, equipment and materials are provided. If you have a lovely fabric that you would like to turn into a purse you are very welcome to bring it along.
