Why buy a bangle, when you can make one? This workshop will see you create your own made-to-measure sterling silver bangle – guaranteed you'll never see another one quite like it!
Where: Kyneton, Daylesford/Macedon
Create your own made-to-measure sterling silver bangle in just one day. This workshop is perfect if you have trouble finding a bangle that fits your wrist, or you can't find one that you like. Many bangles are made from hollow tube, but bangles in this workshop are made from solid sterling silver. Choose the profile (shape) of the silver, from half-round, oval, square, round or rectangle; then decide whether to make a round or oval bangle. Sit at a traditional jeweller’s bench and learn to use precision tools including callipers, files, pliers, hammers, a soldering torch, bangle mandrel and more.
The fruits of your labour
At the end of this fun class, you’ll take home your beautiful handmade sterling silver bangle – along with written instructions, and a list of suppliers and tools. We'll enjoy a gourmet lunch at a local cafe. Tea/coffee, morning and afternoon tea is also provided.
The kit required
All tools, equipment and materials – including sterling silver – are provided, but you will need to bring a bring a pen and paper so you can make notes, and an apron to protect your clothing. For safety reasons, please wear closed-toe shoes and natural fibres, if you can. Long hair should be tied back. Bring reading glasses if you normally wear them.
