Why BUY a ring, when you can MAKE one? This workshop will see you create your own made-to-measure sterling silver ring – guaranteed you'll never see another one quite like it!
Where: Kyneton, Daylesford/Macedon
Design and create your own made-to-measure sterling silver ring in just one day. Sit at a traditional jeweller’s bench and learn to use precision tools including calipers, files, pliers, hammers, a soldering torch, ring mandrel, punches and more. Choose your own design and finish including textured, brushed, polished, oxidised or fine silver. This workshop is super fun and no previous experience is necessary.
The fruits of your labour
At the end of this fun class, you’ll take home a beautiful, handmade sterling silver ring that you've made yourself – along with written instructions, and a list of suppliers and tools. We'll enjoy a gourmet lunch at a local cafe. Tea/coffee, morning and afternoon tea is also provided.
The kit required
All tools, equipment and materials – including sterling silver – are provided, but you will need to bring a bring a pen and paper so you can make notes, and an apron to protect your clothing. For safety reasons, please wear closed-toe shoes and natural fibres, if you can. Long hair should be tied back. Bring reading glasses if you normally wear them.
Bec de Podolinsky is a jeweller who also teaches jewellery-making and runs Make Your Own Silver Jewellery workshops from her purpose-built studio, located high on a hill in Kyneton. Workshops run year-round and participants travel from across Victoria to attend these unique classes. Bec loves sharing her skills with students and helping them to make stunning pieces of silver jewellery.
