The expert Your yoga teacher and co-host is Claire March, the founder of One Life Yoga. Claire specialises in corporate yoga and yoga events in Victoria and Italy. She is a qualified yogi who has been practising for over 10 years and likes to make her classes both relaxed and dynamic, incorporating asanas (postures), pranayama (breath regulation) and meditation. All her classes are suitable for beginners through to intermediate-level students. Claire is also a huge advocate of living a balanced life and enjoying what makes you feel good, including chocolate and red wine!
The plan One Life Yoga and Retreat Here are all about connecting like-minded people by whisking them away to stunning locations where they can unwind, slow down and share great experiences together. It's a chance to step away from the stressors of modern-day life without chanting, 'ohming' or green juices. But if you have visions of yourself lying in savasana (resting posture) with an empty wine bottle in your hand, you can stop right there! This is definitely not 'Straws 'n' Shiraz'-style yoga. There will be no drinking vino and tree-posing at the same time; nor will you be ‘stretching to reach for the bottle’. No, no. First practise yoga, then drink wine!
The obvious reason is to avoid any injuries, but more to respect the practice. We know the general consensus of yoga is that there are certain restrictions in place, and that most yoga retreats go hand-in-hand with organic, wholesome and super-healthy foods. But while clean eating is important, so is a life lived in balance. Enjoying the good things in life: slowing down, forgetting about Netflix and social media, admiring the sunrise, enjoying delicious meals paired with silky wines and flowing conversations. All of these are just as important as green juices and exercise.
